Board of Education District Trustee Areas

In November 2006 Sacramento voters approved creating seven trustee (Board of Education) areas for electing Sacramento City Unified School District governing board members. Voters also specified that each governing board member be elected from a trustee area by registered voters residing in the area. Board member candidates must reside in the trustee area for which they are running for election.

In November 2008, voters in school district trustee areas 3, 4, 5, and 7 elected their board members. In 2010, voters in areas 1, 2, and 6 will elect their board members.

On May 15, 2008 The Governing Board of the Sacramento City Unified School District passed Resolution No. 2519 requesting consolidation with the statewide general election scheduled for November 4, 2008 and resolving that all candidates are to prepay the District’s costs for candidate statements that are printed in the voter pamphlet and related costs.

Attached HERE is Resolution 2519, Notice of District Election, Publication of Notice of Election and a map of the Sacramento City Unified School District Trustee Areas.

For more information about the election process, call the Sacramento County Voter Registration and Elections Office at (916) 875-6451. To learn which trustee area you live in please refer to the Trustee Area map or call the Voter Registration and Elections Office.
